Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Perú

Location: Arequipa

Total Budget: $50,000

Area of Focus: Community economic development

"Implementation of a bakery for the shelter casa hogar niño jesus de pachacutec cerro colorado - arequipa - peru"

- this project will directly benefit the shelter and the 31 people who inhabitate it,

But the most important goal will be to provide the means for the daily subsistence of - -the shelter, that is committed to the well-being and care of rescued children, most of whom come from families with problems of alcoholism and family violence.

These children are delivered by the judicial power of peru to the shelter, without economic resources for their maintenance.

- for a while the survival of the shelter depended on the work of its founder, priest alain, who received limited resources from donations. After his passing the shelter only relies on charity from the community. Currently the shelter is managed by people who were raised there and received the opportunity to prosper in life.

- the desire is not to depend on charity for the shelter's sustenance but also give the people who live there the tools to thrive and be self-sufficient.

-timeline: we hope that from april we can begin to implement the bakery in the shelter

-the requested funds will be used to purchase all the machinery, furniture and equipment needed, including the main supplies to begin the production of the bakery

- in our club we have the advantage of having partners who have had the opportunity to implement a very successful global rotary project and all the partners have the effect of participating in the assembly, taking advantage of that experience

Global subsidy amount: $ 50,000 u.s.dollars

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
