The São José Hospital was founded in 1943. Located in the Vale do Taquari, 96 km from the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre.

The instituation serves patients of "Sistema Único de Saúde" (SUS), it's a government health system. The Emergency and Urgency Service was founded in 1943, with the opening of instituation. It Serves adult and pediatric patients in the region. It works 24 hours, with on-call medical attendance, nursing team, continuous diagnostic service in the laboratory and radiological area.

It serves on average, 2000 patients per month, of whom 10% are children aged 0 to 17 years.

30% of the patients are critically ill, at high risk, with the most diverse diagnoses. The main ones are: Severe Trauma, Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases.

Therefore, these patients require specialized care and with state-of-the-art technological apparatus for greater efficacy and resolubility in restoring health.

Nowadays the service has an emergency room, with 9m² with outdated equipment, and some without conditions.

It was built a new area (where the emergency room has 31,17m²) which is in the completion process, with public resources at state and municipal level, however, it does not have any equipment and furniture.

In order to equip this new space, it is necessary to acquire technologies of: Biophasic Cardioverter with External Step Mark, emergency car, computers, electrocardiograph, Ceiling Spotlight, Fixed Pulmonary Ventilator, Pulmonary Ventilator and essential furniture (fixed chair, back chair system, bed-table, Stretcher Mattress, Hydraulic Stetcher, Stool, ladder, Soro Wall Support.
