Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene

Object : water supply in the Rural Commune of BISORO in Burundi, by rehabilitation of existing sources and tanks, new constructions of standpipes and a distribution net (6 560 m of piping, fittings ans accessories).

Beneficiaries : main goal is, for 100% of the 40.000 people in BISORO, to have clean water at less than 500 m distance. The present project covers 6 km out of 20 km of the overall project.

Partnership : the project is a proposal of the Association of Friends of the Commune of Bisoro (AACOBI). Rotary Club Bujumbura support the project, and wishes to mobilize contributions of Rotary Clubs, Districts, and different sponsors.

Budget : Total of 230 000 USD (Material 132 kUSD, Labour and transport 33 kUSD, Supervision and control, unexpected 30 kUSD, VAT 35 kUSD)

Funds to be collected by the RC BUJUMBURA and AACOBI : 40 kUSD

Actual priority n° 1 : need of the primary international Host

Other priorities : Support from other Rotary Clubs and Districts

This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit).
