Project Description

Region: North America

Country: Mexico

Location: Azcapotzalco, Mexico City

Total Budget: $34,540

Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

Generate Neighborhood living spaces that promote civic values of tolerance, respect and urbanity through the recovery of the green areas of San Alvaro Park.

The project will be carried out in three stages, each with different activities.

a) Neighborhood Adoption: local promotion, cleaning and remission of garbage.

b) Direct intervention: artistic calls, physical recovery of space, opening event.

c) Social Intelligence: green activities and ecological interventions.

Short Term: Begin with neighborhood adoption, making it known to the community, integrant it and achieving active participation; Through meetings with neighborhood assemblies in social networks, cleaning rounds and information days.

Within the second stage of direct intervention, an artistic call will be made, in order to involve society in the aesthetic appropiation of the project, this call will be made through social networks and print media.

A drinking fountain for dogs and two crash cans for their feces will be installed.

Long Term: The physical recovery of the space will begin with the physical study of the soil, the determination of flowers to be planted, the installation of a representative decorative figure of Rotary, in the form of an antd and cluminate with an inauguration event, summoning local artists

With social Intelligence we will achieve penetration into the social fabric, a calender of "green artistic and cultural" activities will be included. And generating permanent ecological interventions with the entire community.

The recovery of the green areas turns out to be sustainable due to the permanent neighborhood integration in this way the maintenance of the actions carried out is guaranteed.
