Tuberculosis (TB) is the first cause of death by an infectious agent in the world, the incidence in the population is declining very slowly and drug resistance is currently considered an international crisis. In Peru, the recent TB Prevention and Control Act in Peru (Law 30287) declares the fight against TB of national interest. In recent years, the Ministry of Health's (MINSA) National Health Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis (ESNPCT) has achieved significant progress in the control of this disease; however, challenges still remain to be addressed.
According to the World Health Organization, our country records the
highest rate of the most severe form of tuberculosis in the Americas, the
multi-drug resistant. Also, by 2016, more than 31 thousand cases were registered
of tuberculosis in all its forms, mainly affecting people male of working age.
The project is to implement the GeneXpert MTB/Rif test, which will be to purchase the equipment that detects the TBC. This equipment has four cartridges to be processed simultaneously and to obtain TBC diagnosis in 02 hours. This machine is approved by the Ministery of Health in Peru.
The direct beneficiary will be the Nasca population (50,000 hbts aprox)
