Haemodialysis Project at Waling Community Dialysis Centre, Syangja-Nepal
The Kidney failure rate has been increasing day by day in the world. In this region there is several kidney failure diagnosis being done. Every patient doesn't have access to kidney transplant. Therefore they have to go through haemodialysis atleast two times in a week.
There are around 200 dialysis patients in this district. Currently Gautam Buddha Community Heart Hospital at Butwal is providing the dialysis services to 35 patients of this district. There isn't any dialysis service in this region therefore RC Waling is willing to set up Rotary Dialysis Centre at Waling of Syangja district. The dialysis fee is not charged to patient and the government provides the dialysis fee of NRs. 2500 per patient to the hospital/dialysis centre. As the Dialysis service is facilitated in support with Nepal Government, the patient are somehow been relieved of the dialysis cost and the flow of patient is very high day by day in every dialysis centre available nearby. The number of dialysis equipment available in nearby district is also very limited and they have to wait long to get their turn for dialysis. Every patient does not have other family member to travel along with them to other place for the Service and most of the poor people are not able to afford the transportation costs as well. This will help patient get timely service at their local level and they don't have to travel long distance for the dialysis twice a week. The equipment is not sufficient enough to match with the number of patients over most of the dialysis centre. Therefore in order to minimize the flow of patients from this districts to Butwal, Pokhara or Kathmandu, RC Waling is planning to setup 12 dialysis machines at waling, Syangja 110 km North from Butwal in technical support by GBC Heart Hospital and Nepal Government. With those sets of equipments we will be able to serve atleast 7,000 dialysis sessions in one year. Also in order to minimize the kidney failure rate in this region, the dialysis centre will be doing free kidney screening to 500 people every month which comes to be the total of 6000 kidney screening with each patient screening cost of USD 7.50. The Project is estimated to be around USD 430,500. The remaining required fund for the project is USD 150,000. The physical infrastructure, land and other set up will be arranged by the local government and the Municipality of waling. The project will be named in the name of Rotary, which will serve the dialysis patients as well as enhance the Rotary Image through its major service project in this district. The project is planned to be established and operate by February 2020.

Dropped
This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
