Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Ruropolis Total Budget: $30,000 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene 583/5000 In the Leitoso neighborhood, in the city of Rurópolis, PA, there are about 300 needy families. The problem identified was the lack of sewage treatment, which motivates work absences and illnesses for children. The solution found was the manufacture of ecological sewage treatment systems for the treatment of black water and gray water. The community has selected 60 (sixty) residences, where BETS (ecological sumps) will be installed to treat black water. The cost of the project is $ 30,000.00 (thirty thousand dollars).
