Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has high morbidity and mortality in Brazil, is a progressive disease and most of the time it is necessary to perform renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis). Hemodialysis keeps alive patients with advanced CKD awaiting kidney transplantation. It acts as a filter that removes excess water and toxins from the blood, playing the role of diseased kidneys. Currently, patients from the SUS (Unified Health System) of Lençóis Paulista and region, who undergo hemodialysis, are referred to Bauru and Promissão, 41 and 161 km away. The Lençóis Paulista Hospital has begun the construction of a hemodialysis center with an investment of US$ 137.500,00. For the service to be operational, it is necessary to purchase 11 machines, which will serve up to 120 patients / day, resulting in an investment of US$ 122,802.85. According to studies, the Therapy Center is economically viable and can generate a net profit of 10%.

This project has been "Dropped". Check the history log entries to see why it was dropped.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
