Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Trichy Total Budget: $45,300 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Project Objectives : Create an opportunity for transgender children to continue and complete their school education upto class XII (Age group from 10 to 18) Brief Project Summary : Project Siva Shakti envisages providing boarding, lodging and education to transgender children when they are deserted by their near and dear ones. This will be the first of its kind in whole of India and will be a trendsetter to mainstream these children. Project Beneficiaries : Transgender children from the age group of 10 to 18 who wants to complete their education upto class XII Area of Focus :1. Education 2. Security of these children 3.Mainstreaming them into the society post education. Project Local Host Club: Rotary club of Tiruchirappalli shakthi jointly with Sri Sivananda Balalaya will be executing this project. Role of Rotarians: Rotarians will play a predominant role in execution of the project, running of the project and creating the necessary awareness in the environment.
