Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention
The project being proposed is one that looks at the looming refugee crisis in Britain post-Brexit. In other words, the scholar would engage, communicate and assess the needs and wants of two communities: the current citizens of England, and the incoming refugees. Then, the scholar would work to find common ground between both populations to see if tensions between the citizens and refugees can be diminished. This reflects the racial and ethnic tensions currently present in England, as shown by the rise in hate crimes since Brexit's announcement. The project takes place over one year and works to identify the needs in both communities and works alongside Rotary to see those needs met. Mr. Perrotti's university and program of study, the masters of research in philosophy at The University of Reading correlates directly with his project because the program has already began the sorts of research questions he looks to build on. Further, his mentor at the university, Dr. David Oderberg, is a renown philosopher known for his problem solving approaches in philosophy with complex issues like the refugee crisis. Dr. Oderberg has also agreed to reach out to the MP of Reading, Penny Mordaunt, to ask for her assistance in the project. The project funds will be used to cover tuition to the University of Reading, for lodging and necessary needs such as food. In addition, funds will be used to help assess community needs and provide for solutions. Club members will be involved by working with the scholar to identify plausible populations to assess and also act as an intermediary for Rotary and England. Club members will also provide the much needed ethos in working with the populations previously mentioned.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
