Project Description

Region: North America

Country: México

Location: Nuevo Laredo

Total Budget: $99,100

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

The project is to vaccinate with two dosis, 4764 boys in the age of 9-11 years, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). By vaccinating these children, it prevents them from contracting any disease related to this virus, in addition to being able to transmit it to their partners by having sexual relations in the future. So, the health and social impact is very important for the community. The project involves Rotarians, as well as private and public organizations related to this issue, such as the local Departments of Health and Education. The laboratory that provides the vaccine, trains everyone before starting the implementation.
