Project Description Region: Africa Country: Nigeria Location: Abia State Total Budget: $310,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy The cry of the community was drawn to us as many died on dailly basis for the last 8 years their general hospital was abandoned by the government.This year the had MOU with the government for renovations, re-equipping Akahaba General hospital Abiriba,Ohafia LGA by providing medical and dental equipment to serve its communities and immediate environs .In its first phase, the hospital will be a Center, providing services ranging from surgery and anesthesiology to maternity and child health for a population of 100,000. However, the goal is to become a standard Referral Hospital, serving 300,000 people.Project hand over will be by may 2019 and club members,district governor will be fully involved as vocational training and supervision will be shared among Rotarians.
