The Navajo Nation consists of about 200,000 Navajo Indians living on 25,000 square miles of reservation. Currently, about 70,000 do not have inside running tap water and/or toilet in their homes and 44 percent of their youth are in poverty. The Navajo Nation is in the States of Arizona, Utah and New Mexico, USA.
These homes have no electricity and their water is delivered into above ground 50 gallon holding barrels in their yards by a water truck and then carried into the home by small containers.
Our objective is to install underground cisterns that will pump running water into 25 homes at a cost of $4,500 US per home for a total of $112,500 US and includes installation. The water system is furnished by DigDeep and consists of a 1,200 gallon in-ground cistern, solar panel, battery, electric pump, water filter, water heater, cabinet with sink and gray water leach field. Our Rotarians will provide hands-on assistance at time of installation.
We want to complete all 25 installations during this Rotary year 2018-2019.
We are fully funded from clubs and districts within the USA. We now need funds from clubs and districts outside the USA to comply with TRF requirement of 30% from international funding.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
