The Family and community medicine program focuses on health promotion, prevention and disease treatment.
It will implement educational sessions in each family wrapping humanitarian activities of health promotion, diagnosis, healing, rehabilitation and prevention services for the overall improvement of health in the community.
The following are the goals of the Project:
•Promoting disease prevention programs, with the goal of limiting the spread of communicable diseases and reducing the incidences of and complications from non-communicable diseases;
•Educating and mobilizing communities to help prevent the spread of major diseases;
•Preventing physical disability resulting from disease or injury;
•Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to disease prevention and treatment
With the help of Fundación Valle Interoceánico-Centro Médico Rotario. www.funvain.org. That has a Rotary Medical Center that has been equipped with funds from MG and GG since 2006 and has all the technical, technological and human resources to meet the goals of the project will deliver reports, every things 3 months, of morbidity and progress of the project to the president of the local monitoring committee.
The project`s funds will be used to implement humanitarian activities of promotion, prevention, diagnosis, intervention, recovery and rehabilitation, aligning itself in this way with the goal of a dignified life that the country pursues by improving the health and life conditions of the family. The beneficiary population will be 100 families.
Funds will be used in these areas:
1- Healthy Child Control: Health charts, trimestral checkups, nutrition status, lab tests, optometrist procedures, odonthologist procedures, psychological evaluations).
Activities will begin once the funds of the global grant is received and will run for 12 months.
2- Educational Control: Drug prevention, Sexual education, accident and desease medical care
3- Family Planning: Birth control workshops, workshops to prevent and reduce STDs, Nutrition workshops
Local Rotarians will be involved in:

•Review of backups prior to disbursement
