Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Total Budget: $10,000

Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Community economic development

Activity Type: Health: Volunteer Services

Summary: Provide food, and food/meal preparation supplies and equipment to meet childen's nutrition basic needs

Our club adopted Children's Lunchbox in Anchorage. They feed over 20,000 children locally per year. Anchorage and its school district is the most diverse in the US with high percentages in homes that are far below the poverty line. We intend to continue to support this critical mission insuring children don't go hungry both during school and while at home. We also participate in person with meal preparation and distribution as may be needed each year. Some funds also provide replacement commercial-grade/enduring kitchen equipment and bulk supplies for meals packaging.
