Project Description

Country: Peru

Location: Pomachanchi

Total Budget: $2,850

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Funding equipment for a new municipality-owned library in Pomacanchi Peru

The project is funding equipment to establish a new Pomachanchi municipality-owned library at a school in Pomacanchi, Peru. No other funding sources are available locally. The funds will be used to purchase equipment consisting of furniture and accessories including bookshelves and tables and chairs, electronic equipment, learning toys and tools, and learning games. The children and other community members will benefit from the library that otherwise have no access to books and other learning items. The project is to begin early in August and estimated to be completed within six months. Club members will be involved by providing experienced assistance in what equipment is best to purchase and what books and methods are best to equip a library for children. Gate City Rotary and/or Pocatello Rotary Club members plan to visit to help in purchasing a portion of the equipment and distributing proceeds.

A detailed spending plan is required for tier 3 projects, those with budgets greater than $2850. Since your club is only eligible to request the tier 2 amount of $1425 in DDF, you might modify your proposal to show a total budget of $2850. When you write your final report uploading your receipts for purchase of goods, you'll show that the club contributed more money. Call me if you have any questions. 208 308-5617

This is a reminder that you have a report due on this grant by May 15th, 2025. If the project is completed your submittal should be a final report. You'll find the final report form on the admin side of the description tab for download. Complete the report, save as pdf and upload to the documents tab along with supporting receipts. If project is not complete, provide a progress report by sending a history log email stating when you started the project, what percent complete it is and when you anticipate being wrapped up. That's all we need for a progress report. Failure to report may impact your club's ability to receive a grant in the 2025-26 cycle, so please get your report in. Call Marianne 208 308-5617 if you have questions or need help.
