To provide backpacks and school supplies to approximately 60 students, grades 1 thru 12, residing in an at-risk, limited neighborhood of Placentia. These students' families are of limited means, and are participants in a non-profit program known as LOT 318.
LOT 318 provides service to at-risk youth, seeking to empower them to see their self-worth and purpose in this world, to draw them away from gang activities, challenging them to serve others and to make a difference among their peers. Education is the primary means of achieving these goals, requiring the tools and resources to fully participate in the learning environment.
The school supplies and backpacks will be filled and distributed by Rotarians prior to the start of the 2021/22 school year in late-August.
