Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: Materials and labor to rebuild and make safer a community center which provides breakfast and support to childen lacking proper nutrition in Agua Prieta, Mexico
Our sister club in Mexico, Agua Prieta Rotario, has requested our support for this proposed project. Currently, children, who live in precarious conditions without resources for their daily nutrition are fed breakfast in a community center. The structure is old and iin need of safety improvements and more protection from weather issues. This project will rebuild the center with the help of both the Agua Prieta Rotario and the Steamboat Springs club; about 8 - 10 Rotarians. If there are no COVID restrictions, we will also include our Interact students (usually about 10 students) in the work of this project. Funds will be used for material and labor, with the support of Rotarians as indicated. Our service trip to Agua Prieta will take place in January, 2022.
This project is "Paid". This means that the funds from the district have been issued. This project is now being ready for implementation. When this is done, a report needs to be uploaded on the project page and the "Reported" button needs to be clicked, then the status of the project will be changed to "Reported".
There have been no further actions on this project as the project has not yet moved from a status of signed to a status of approved which would enable the receipt of funds to begin the implementation of the project.
