Our club supplied a $3500 power generator for a church run maternity hospital in rural Nigeria.
Prior to that they had a very old generator that had been broken for a number of years. They had a small generator for emergency use, such as for the operating room, but it could not light up hospital at night, thus they used oil lanterns.
Two of our members traveled to Nigeria to attend the inauguration celebration of the new generator.
Since they got our new generator, we have supplied $125 per year for annual maintenance.
When we sent $125 this year, we were informed that the generator had been broken for three months and $800 would be needed to fix it.
We aspire to do the necessary to get the generator back in service.
