Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Fort Worth

Total Budget: $792

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: 192 bilingual dictionaries provided to schools for children in Fort Worth, TX, USA

Our Club will donate Spanish/English dictionaries to third graders at Glen Park Elementary School and Sagamore Hill Elementary School. One of our members is on the local school board and helped us identify the schools in most need of help with literacy and English skills in our area. The books are $2.75 each, or $66.00 per case of 24. We must buy a complete case. We will need 12 cases @ $66/case = $792. Shipping is included. Our portion, assuming our grant is approved, will be half, $396. Club members will personally deliver the dictionaries, and maintain good relationships with the schools for projects benefiting their students and neighborhood throughout the year.
