The Lander Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program was dealt a severe funding blow when Fremont County, Wyoming stopped funding it due to the state's overall budget crisis.
The Rotary Club of Lander would like to make up some of that lost funding by donating a total of at least $1,500 to the Lander Meals on Wheels program.
We are conducting "mini-fundraisers" to raise money for various things in Lander like the First Stop Help Center, the weekly Good Samaritan Community Dinner, and also Meals on Wheels. It is through these "mini-fundraisers" we hope raise our $500 matching part of this Governor's Grant.
Rotarians would take part in this project during the "mini-fundraisers." For example, several Rotarians will be running the Bingo and Bourbon event we'll be running on October 22nd. Rotarians will also be participating in this event. Assuming this particular "mini-fundraiser" is successful, we will likely repeat it later this year. This will give other Rotarians to participate if they were not able to attend the October 22nd event. Other kinds of "mini-fundraisers" are also being considered in which Rotarians will also be encouraged to participate.
