La Corazon de Vida is requesting funds to supply educational materials & equipment for an orphanage, Morada del Nino Jesus, located in Tijuana, Mexico. Corazon de Vida Foundation (www.corazondevida.org) is a U.S. based organization 501C3 non-profit founded in 1994. They provide financial support to 10 orphanages in Baja, Mexico.
The list of items includes: English/Spanish math/technology textbooks, folding chairs/tables, uniform shirts, chromebooks. (see attached list of items in documents)
Equipment/supplies will be purchased, locally in Mexico and will be delivered and installed by October 31, 2020. Pending Covid19 travel constraints, Point Loma Rotary Club members will be invited to participate in the inauguration and assist in setup.
Point Loma, Corazon de Vida and the orphanage Morada del Nino Jesus individually, will make press releases in the USA and Mexico showcasing Rotary's contribution to education and international cooperation.
The orphanage Morada del Nino Jesus,is located in a poor neighborhood in Tijuana and serves 20-25 children/teens, and about 40% of their children have learning disorders and/or mental disabilities. The school is named SAN JUAN BOSCO.
The school was opened up to support children from a second orphanage and they will have a total of 35 students for the 2020/2021. The name of the school is SAN JUAN BOSCO. Last year, the school also accepted a few children from the local neighborhood, however, this year, due to COVID, they will only have the children from the two orphanages (35 total).
