Summary: Medical equipment and supplies for COVID-19 patients and Health Workers, Atlantida Hospital, La Ceiba, Honduras
The public hospital Atlantida has been designated by the government of Honduras as a COVID-19 hospital. It serves an extensive territory which includes four regions of Honduras: Atlantida, Colon, Islas de la Bahia and Gracias a Dios. Currently, Honduras has 30,867 confirmed cases with an additional 7,000 test waiting for results. Atlantida hospital has reported 1,972 COVID-19 cases, 1261 in the Department of Atlantida. These numbers do not take into consideration the delay time of 2-3 weeks for tests results. The hospital has 125 health workers, 45 of these have been infected with COVID-19. The funds will be used for PPE equipment, medical supplies and 4 Non-Invasive Ventilation Helmets/CPAP. The number of cases and fatalities grow higher every day. Our Club is working with Rotary Club of La Ceiba who will be monitoring the use of the supplies and equipment.
