The Torrington Rotary Club created a satellite club 4-years ago and their stated purpose is to help provide resources and service to seniors and those community members afflicted by Alzheimers and dementia. The club has been and continues to change the lives of seniors in our region. Most recently they purchased with grant funds a music and memory program that helps cognitive growth and nuro-network for seniors. Additionally, they helped train our business community to create a dementia friendly society and have provide other technology items that illustrate complete support. This dedicated system will be used in the senior living / Alzheimers / Dementia care facility in Torrington. The system integrates software and learning into a touchscreen environment. It allows for social interaction, games, group lessons, and builds a sense of community.
