Rotary 2000 has long been the organization in Ketchikan to take the lead in working with Alaska's Department of Natural Resources on their "Kids Don't Float" program. This year, we would like to conduct a complete survey of the resources and infrastructure that exist in our community around this program, update them, and then create some new educational resources to let people know more about the program, how it works, and also inform them about general boating safety, life jacket use, etc.

We received life jackets from Alaska DNR and have restocked all Kids Don't Float locations in Ketchikan. We have publicized the resource via radio and currently have an RFP out for producing a video and additional radio advertisements to let people know about the program, which is what the grant monies will be spent on.

This project is nearly complete. We are awaiting a final invoice from North Creative Design, the firm that is creating the video PSAs for our Kids Don't Float public awareness campaign. We will upload those invoices and/or receipts along with the invoices and/or receipts for another lifejacket receptacle as soon as we are able.
