Camden Schmidt has been selected by Rotary Club of Cheyenne to receive a $1,000 Governor's Grant Scholarship for 2020-2021. Camden is an exemplary International Baccalaureate student, active in numerous extra-curricular activities, and currently on a Rotary Youth Exchange to Poland.
Here's more from Camden, in his own words.
The opportunity for a Rotary scholarship will help tremendously with my college
success. As I look forward to the future, and to my studies, I see that they fit closely with the Rotary Areas of Focus that is Economic and Community Development, though, I
believe that my studies will bleed into other areas, including peace building and conflict
prevention and water and sanitation. At Oregon State University, I will pursue a major of
International Studies with a concentration in Environmental Economics and Policy and a
minor of Statistics. My ultimate career goal is to be a Foreign Service Officer in the
State Department where I can help global communities develop their economies in an
environmentally conscious way. I firmly believe that building sustainability and
environmentalism into our foreign and economic policy can have a very positive and
long lasting impact on our future and I dearly want to be a part of that.
Respectfully Submitted,
Camden Schmidt
