Project Description Country: USA Location: Escondido, CA Total Budget: $750 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: General Summary: Support local Salvation Army efforts to feed homeless and vulnerable seniors. In response to a question of Covid-19 current needs, Salvation Army Lt. Denise Litreal shared, "We need food to give to those in need. All of our food pick-ups are lower because the stores are low on everything, we also need food to feed our seniors who can not go anywhere at this time. We need toilet paper for our seniors that can not go to the stores. We also need to-go style boxes we are going through these more & more because of all the to go meals we are serving. If there is anyway you could see about getting any of these types of things donated from anywhere that would be amazing." This project will inject $750 of cash into the local Salvation Army food purchasing program now, to assist with their current and urgent need.
