Project Description Country: USA Location: Azle, Texas Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: We will hand out dictionaries to all third graders attending Azle ISD. We have identified a need to improve the literacy among the children of our community. Our project will ensure that all children currently attending 3rd grade in Azle ISD have access to a dictionary to help with vocabulary and reading comprehension. We have already handed out the dictionaries. A group of approximately 10 Rotarians attended an assembly at each of the 5 elementary schools in Azle ISD and handed the dictionaries out. Club funds are used to purchase the dictionaries.
