Activity Type:
Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: Construction of a Press Box for the community's athletic field, benefiting the entire community of Pleasantville (7100+), especially those attending or participating in the baseball, softball, soccer, football, and lacrosse games.
The addition of a Press Box will greatly enhance Pleasantville's community cohesiveness. Aspiring youth reporters and journalists will narrate the sporting events, providing insights into the games. These reporters will give special recognition to the athletes on each team, fostering good sportsmanship. In addition, Rotarian's will be staffing the Press Box during the games, raising our presence in the community.
Furthermore, the Press Box will feature a clearly visible Rotarian Logo, further raising community awareness of Rotary.

The Rotary Club of Pleasantville has revised the plan for this grant in order to meet the needs of our Pleasantville community during the COVID-19 crisis. We will be diverting these funds ($2,500) to buy 25 gift cards in the amount of $100 dollars each, from our local ShopRite grocery store. These gift cards will then be dispersed by the Pleasantville Superintendent of Schools (and Rotarian), Mary Fox Alter, to the Pleasantville families that she knows are suffering from food insecurity as a result of the COVID 19 crisis.
