Summary: Publish 'On My Mind' Book that includes submissions from 200 students fromn 16 diverse high schools.
"On My Mind is a book of prose, poetry and artwork from 200 students from sixteen racially and economically diverse high schools in urban suburban and rural communities within 100 miles of NYC. Students are encouraged to reveal their innermost thoughts which can be a cathartic experience for some of these students who may be the product of dysfunctional or economically deprived families. Seeing their names and works in a professionally published book is a proud moment for these students and their families, and including this accomplishment on their college or job resume can be a very valuable asset. Our Book Launch brings these students, as well as their teachers and parents together, for recognition and socialization. Our Literacy Committee is comprised of eight of our members. The committee is responsible for: soliciting schools, acting as liaison with the participating schools, collecting, compiling and editing the submissions, coordinating with the book designer and publisher, ensuring the quality of the book, soliciting sponsorships, planning and running the book launch celebration including serving a supper. The effort starts in Sept and ends in May. The funding will be used to help pay the publishing and the book launch celebration expenses.

Typesetter, book cover designer and printer have been confirmed. Sponsorship forms have been sent to club members. Keynote speaker and intro writer have been confirmed. Teacher Guidelines have been updated.
