Project Description Country: USA Location: San Diego Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: RI Youth Programs (Youth Exchange, RYLA, Rotaract, Interact) Summary: Mini-resource fair focused on health and nutrition for those living on the streets in Pacific Beach. The mini-resource fair will be co-produced by Pacific Beach Rotaract and Think Dignity for spring 2020 to serve over 100-150 homeless. Our partner Think Dignity, whose mission is to inspire, empower, and organize our community to advance basic dignity for those living on the streets, would help coordinate the fair by providing their Street Cafe. This pop-up farmer's market style would address the food insecurity within the homeless community. In addition, Think Dignity will ask partners to provide health/dental screenings and CalFresh enrollment. Our contributions would include funding the venue, marketing materials, water/drinks, hygiene products for kits, and additional meals/snacks for guests to take home. Pacific Beach Rotaractors will also volunteer at our hygiene kit station and assist each guest as a personal shopper at the Street Cafe. This event will be open to the district.
