Clark Rotary Club is looking at renovating their Baseball Diamond bathroom floor. It currently has a cement floor in it which has begun cracking and pitting in spots. Clark Rotary Club wants to have a professional applicator group grinding down, put a base layer of epoxy, a layer of quartz and a top layer of epoxy on the floor, as well as fill in any cracks and joints to help with future cracking issues.
Clark Rotary Club has looked at two option's, the first option, which you will see on the estimate costs $2,520. We felt would not suit our needs, as kids with baseball cleats would chips the epoxy almost instantaneously, therefore we have opted to look at the 2nd option of using quartz which is much more strong and should with stand the metal baseball cleats the kids use. This shows a price of $3,640 and fill in the cracks of $258.40 with a 4 % sales tax of $155.94 for a total project cost of $4,054.34. ( You will notice it shows $6,675.14 but this is with both the first and 2nd option included on the estimate). We feel based on funding this project will be completed prior to November 2019.
Recently baseball in Clark has formed an association ranging with kids from 5 years old up to 20 years old who use the baseball diamond. Clark Rotary has redone the field, but not made updates to the bathrooms or concession stand. Clark Rotary Club holds an annual baseball tournament the 2nd weekend in July. Roughly 15 members of our Rotary Club help with this tournament annually with prepping the field between games, to running scoreboard and announcing the games. This tournament has great attendance and received great recognition for how well the ball diamond looks and plays and makes teams want to come back. The goal of the club in the next 2-4 years is to hold a state baseball tournament to help with the field's recognition, and make people aware that Clark Rotary Club put the time and effort to better the community.
