Project Description Country: USA Location: Chula Vista Total Budget: $560 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: For the “kids” event, students receive professional training in presenting a TED talk. The student speakers include the top finishers at CVESD's annual Speech Contest. TEDxKids ChulaVista is about sharing ideas in an innovative and creative way at an annual speakers showcase held at Southwestern College. Student speakers take the stage with the goal of shifting the audience's mindset to a greater awareness of community and global issues. Giving students this opportunity empowers them to be a part of the sharing of ideas in Chula Vista-and the world. Operational support will assist in obtaining facilities, providing meals to attendees and staff, actually hosting TEDxKids, part of TEDxChulaVista. For the "kids" event, students receive professional training in presenting a TED talk. The student speakers include the top finishers at CVESD's annual Speech Contest. Facilities rental, meals for participants and attendees, publishing the event program, offsetting the cost of video production, live-streaming.
