Summary: Route 78 Rotary will host Rise Against Hunger for our first food packaging event in North County San Diego, packing 10,000 meals.
Route 78 Rotary will coordinate a hands on community wide event to pack 10,000 meals using volunteers recruited from local Rotary Clubs and the community in general. We will purchase the ingredients, secure the project site and recruit volunteers who will assemble the meals. Rise Against Hunger will provide a facilitator and the equipment. Over 70% of the meals go to support transformational development programs such as school feeding programs, early childhood development programs, vocational training programs, orphanages and medical clinics. Another 20% is reserved for immediate response to crisis situations including natural disaster, conflict and famine events.
