Community Development: Construction/Renovation
Summary: To Build a sturdy house for a poor family without housing in a colonia of Tijuana, Mexico
Working with the organization 'Project Mercy' our club will build a sturdy house in one day that will allow a poor family to move from a shack without doors & windows to move to a safe, clean domicile. The residents in this extremely poor area have many diseases and ailments as a result of lack of sanitation or running water. The Project Mercy organization provides help and pre-planning to build a simple house. The potential resident family must help with the build as well as the Rotary Club. If there are sufficient funds available Project Mercy will provide materials and plans for sanitary latrines as well. The Rotary Club must provide the financing.
