Project Description Country: USA Location: La Mesa California Total Budget: $4,600 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: El Cajon The La Mesa Rotary Club of California will be partnering with an org called Bikes for Kids. We will purchase bikes and helmets at $65 X 70=$4600. We will need two Rotarians to pickup bikes. Then assembly at one of our member's business. Last year used 40 volunteers, Interact Club students and friends to assembly the bikes. Bikes will stored in a container until delivered we select an elementary school (title 9) with in the La Mesa/Spring Valley school district. An essay contest will be held at the selected school to determine winners of bikes. The students and teachers think there is only one winner but actually every student who wrote an essay will receive a bike. This project will be completed during the month of December 2019.
