The primary goal of Project Mercy, a non-profit San Diego agency, is to help improve the basic living standards and quality of life for destitute families in the colonias east of Tijuana, Mexico. Recognizing the extreme need to alleviate the health hazards incurred by poor makeshift housing, they have organized a means with the financial and hands-on help of organizations such as RI to address this basic need by building a home for a designated family.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook, the Fallbrook Village Rotary Club, the Fallbrook Interact Club and students from Francis Parker High School would like to help construct one of these homes on October 12, 2019. The cost of the material is $5,300 and the cost the of an outhouse is $600 for a total of $6,000. The Rotary Club of Fallbrook has pledged $2,000 club money and the Fallbrook Village Rotary Club has pledged $1,000 club money and we would respectfully ask the District for DDF funds of $3,000 to complete the purchase price of the home.
This is an opportunity or fellow Rotarians, future Rotarians, families of all sizes and ages to come together for one day and truly live the motto of "Service Above Self".
