The Rotary Club of North County San Diego - Route 78 has been supporting Hope for Mtshabezi for the past couple of years. The founder, Lindani Sibanda, is a nurse by profession and is a past member of our club. She left our club when work took her to New Mexico.
Hope for Mtshabezi, a Non-Profit Organization that has been providing free health care to the medically underserved people in South western part of Zimbabwe, has been granted permission by the Gwanda Rural Council and Gwanda Ministry of Health and Child care to build a clinic that will serve the population of the that area.
Hope for Mtshabezi has been providing free healthcare in the area since 2004. They have been actively building a clinic since 2014, and construction started in 2018, and is now finishing up.
What they have now is an empty clinic. When asked how Route 78 Rotary could help, Lindani replied that they need furniture for the waiting room, the exam rooms and the pharmacy. If there is funding remaining, possibly also a computer. The purchase of this furniture will occur in late 2018, early 2019.
