Project Description Country: Mexico Location: Tecate Total Budget: $3,000 Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, Maternal and child health, Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Corazon Home Build in a day in Mexico Partnering with Corazon, we will build a home in a day for a family in one of two communities 20km south of Tecate. The beneficiary includes: 1. The family will now own a home with a sanitation component including a flushable toilet. 2. The community- building community with mutual support, education and security. Construction projects ensure children and their families have a safe, secure home to live in. Corazon is empowering communities to build, repair and maintain their homes through training and job skill development. Corazon works with families earning the ability to own a home. This includes the families participation in Community service in helping other families in the area, education in various topics including money managements and job skills. Once the family has completed the pre-requisites and has been able to secure a viable site, Corazon provides the materials and man-power to build a home in a day. Funds will be used to purchase building supplies: lumber, paint, roofing materials, nails, windows, door, ... 12 members of our club will participate in the home build build will be done March 2020.
