Project Description Country: USA Location: Woodridge Total Budget: $2,742 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Woodridge youth and families who don't have financial resources are provided the opportunity to participate in Park District programs. Each year we provide assistance to 50-100 families in Woodridge. The families participate in a variety of activities. We started this program 28 years ago and it continues to grow. Ten Rotarians work on programs and extensive efforts to connect with the community at functions where this program is explained to residents. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our club was unable to complete this grant. The unspent balance of this grant, $489, will be directed toward COVID-19 relief in our community. We plan to support the substantially increased need for food through the West Suburban Community Pantry. We have increased our annual contribution to the Pantry by $1,000.
