Anchorage Midtown Rotary Club worked last year with the Rotary Club of Escazu (in San Jose, Costa Rica) to take on a needed educational project to help the non-profit organization Face of Justice in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Face of Justice takes children from the streets of San Jose, Costa Rica used by traffickers and pimps for prostitution. Face of Justice rehabilitates these children via academic education, mental health support and nutrition.
Since the organization Face of Justice is a non-profit, it is always in need of equipment (and any other type of assistance). At the moment they are expanding their programs to reach a wider group of girls.
The Anchorage Mid Town Rotary will administer the 5010 District Grant by applying to a DG Grant and by donating $2,000.00 towards this project. The Rotary Club of Escazu (in Costa Rica), will be in charge of purchasing, delivering and installing the equipment. They will also provide troubleshooting support of the coming five years.
All the members at the Anchorage Mid Town Rotary club have been involved in fundraising for this project. Our member, Carlos Machuca, will travel again to Costa Rica (covering his own expenses) to meet with the Executive Director of Face of Justice and with the President of the Escazu Rotary Club to coordinate this and future projects.
