Project Description Country: Kenya Location: Nakuru County Total Budget: $2,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Supply 4 desktop computers and 4 printers to Gitura Primary School and Gitura High School, Subukia Subukia is a small rural village in Nakuru County in Rift Valley, Kenya. The Elementary School serves 250 pupils while the high school serves 120 students. The old computers (one in each school) from the 1990s are no longer serviceable. The new computers will be used for office work for the administrators. The administrators will no longer have to travel to town, 20 miles away to print or copy documents. Besides the time and labor involved, the school will save on transportation costs. One computer and printer in each school will be placed in a classroom to introduce students, especially the ones in high school, to basic computing.
