Project Description Country: Guatemala Location: La Reunion Total Budget: $10,000 Area of Focus: Water and sanitation Activity Type: Water: Sanitation Summary: Provide water filters to the people affected by the eruption of FUEGO Volcano On June 4th, 2018 FUEGO Volcano erupted in Guatemala. This was the largest eruption in 40 years. It sent pyroclastic flows and hot mud streaming down to the mountain side and covered several villages south of the volcano. It also covered villages with ash and sand. This awful event carried great tragedy to some 2,000 families. Clean water is badly needed. Thru this grant we will provide 200 Water filters to members of this community. Filters provide immediate clean water and future water needs. These filters last for many years.
