Summary: PROVIDE SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND BACKPACKS FOR SCHOOL READINESS FOR ALL STUDENTS
Our "backpack" project continues again another year. The desire to have each and every child ready and prepared from day one for their education experience is important to the Rotary Club of Wickenburg. With the assistance of the local school district, we have identified approximately 300 students who are in need of an opportunity to have assistance becoming equipped for their school year. Rotary Club works in conjunction with the Community Action Program (CAP) and the School District to purchase and distribute school uniforms, shoes, supplies etc. to these students. That way, when students show up on day 1 together, they are prepared and ready and confident. Rotary gathers all the school supplies and backpacks, meets for an afternoon to assemble everything together, we load them up and move them over to the CAP office for distribution the following day to excited children. This project takes place the first week in August before school begins.
This project is "Approved". This means that the district leadership has reviewed and approved the allocation of district funds for this project. Once the funds from the district have been issued, the status of the project will be changed to "Paid".
