Project Description Country: USA Location: NYC - Chinatown/3 Bridges Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Be prepared kits: Financial, health, and aging literacy For all ages with a focus on seniors. Be prepared for the future - financial and estate decisions, medical decisions, end of life prep. Present a series of workshops in Cantonese and English on the issues and provide a kit with checklists, and basic documents. The kit helps participants organize and document their thoughts and wishes concerning health care, finances, property, and insurance. Consultant is an elder care/estate attorney specializing in financial and estate planning literacy who speaks Cantonese and English. Training on the use of the kit encourages participants to discuss their wishes with family members. Members of the Rotary Club will help with training by hosting tables where individuals and families can talk one on one about the forms and the importance of planning.
