Summary: To provide Greeley/Evans SD6 necessary supplies to start school and promote immunization at a community event
Because of a lack of financial resources, many families in School District 6 (Greeley/Evans, Colorado)are not able to provide the school supplies necessary for their students to get a quality education in today's world. Greeley Redeye Rotary has the opportunity to partner with other community organizations to level the playing field so that each student in the district can start with all the tools needed to begin the school year confidently. The community has identified a need to supply a backpack with school supplies for students in need. The SD6 free and reduced lunch population is over 90% in some schools; district wide, the average is 62%. Community partners come together to meet this need. Though support has grown each year, the need for backpacks and school supplies continues to exceed supply. This year SD6 is thrilled to have reached enough support to be able to distribute 3800 backpacks stuffed with even more school supplies than previous years. RedEye Rotary's $5,000 contribution will provide backpacks, complete with supplies, to 300 needy elementary students; a part of the total effort by SD6 for the 2018-2019 school year. SD6 will screen the families that are eligible. Our club will meet to stuff backpacks prior to the distribution. Distribution of 300 backpacks, printed with the Rotary logo, will occur August 11,2018 at the School Kickoff Community Celebration. In addition to handing out backpacks, as a "Principle Sponsor" Redeye Rotary will host an information booth that will support our ongoing emphasis on immunization and provide "polio pinkie" markers as a visible reminder to families to get their students immunized so that students can be healthy. Additionally, Redeye Rotary will display two of its large banners at the event and the Redeye Rotary logo will be included on all of the event's promotional materials, including T-shirts, newspaper adds, website promotions and more.

Jennifer,
The budget looks fine. Your new President still needs to take the Club Qualification training. That can be found on the District website under the Training tab.

Jennifer,
If this project is complete you need to complete the District Grant Report found on the District website. If you go the Grants/Foundation info. tab and click on Grants information and Forms the report is under "Files" on the left side of the page. We also need a copy of the Club check for this project or the actual receipt. Once both of those items are uploaded I can close out this project. If you have any issues please email or call me at 970-629-0654.
