Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Montpelier

Total Budget: $1,053

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: new window blinds for local library to help control heating and cooling of building.

The windows at our local the Library have very old vinyl blinds. In the summer the sun over-heats the building and in the winter there is more heat loss than desired. An estimate from Blinds.com for new blinds is $81 each. The project would cover the cost of 13 blinds. The Club will install the blinds. So the finance plan for this tier 2 project shows $138 dollars from the club and requests $915 from the DDF.

Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

When the Library ordered the blinds for this project, they got a better deal than expected. They have requested to use the remaining funds on interior decorations at the Library, specifically on framed inspirational quotes to hang throughout the library. Request is uploaded to the "documents".

To be complete and eligible for consideration, your grant application must be signed no later than June 1. To initiate this process, go into your grant. On the administration side of the description tab, click on “start club signature process”. On the next page, check only the names of the primary contact person and the 2018-19 club president, then click “Send application for signatures”. You’ll both receive an email with instructions for activating your electronic signature. Do what it says. Until the history logs in the matching grants system indicate that both people have signed, your application is not finished. Be sure to follow through!

The library was able to purchase the blinds for less than anticipated and would like to use the savings to pay for some framed inspirational quotes to hang on the walls. This would utilize the $280 remaining from the original grant total of $1053.
