Project Description Country: USA Location: Phoenix Country Club, PHX Total Budget: $8,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Students hear talks on the importance of public speaking and gain public speaking experience. The contest is funded by Phoenix Rotary 100 Charities and other donors. It is held at Phoenix Country club in Phoenix The 89th Annual Phoenix Rotary 100 High School Speech Contest is to be held at Phoenix Country Club on April 12, 2019. Scholarships will be awarded as prizes to winning freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Students from the Phoenix metro area are invited to attend (88 students attended in 2018). Invitations will be sent out in September 2018. 35 Club members will be involved as judges, time keepers and organizers. The preliminary event is held the Monday before the finals at Phoenix Rotary 100's Friday meeting on April 12, 2019.
