Project Description Country: USA Location: Fallbrook Total Budget: $2,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Provide a book for every 3rd grade student in Fallbrook, CA, USA Our club would like to give each 3rd grade student in Fallbrook a book of their own. The book we would like to give is called "Then and Ben" which is about Ben Franklin and how the inventions he made are still effecting us today. Many of the students we give this book to have never owned a book before and they are very excited to receive them. We will go to the school libraries and read the book to the students and then pass out the books. In the past, we have gotten hand made thank you cards from all of the students, which is another exercise for the students in their quest for literacy. We will be purchasing the books in January 2019 and will read and pass out the books in February 2019. Funds will be used to purchase the books. We purchased "Then and Ben" books for all of the 3rd grade students in Fallbrook and delivered them to the students and read the book to them. We received many thank you notes from the children afterwards.
