Project Description Country: USA Location: Apache Junction, AZ Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Ten $500 scholarships are awarded to Apache Junction AZ High School Seniors whose applications have been reviewed and selected by our member committee. Our member selection committee guidelines are grades and family need. Our Club #1246 pays the school $5000. Each recipient receives $500 from the school upon qualification. (Some seniors decide to not attend higher education and will not received any funds.) We pay the funds after the award ceremony in the middle of April. A minimum of 6 members of our club participate this project. Our club believes in educating the local community of Apache Junction. By providing scholarships to select seniors, we are ensuring they will further their education and return to the community to make this city of Apache Junction a better play to live.
